is going to be the first of many. The song is called, Do You Want Me? It

Band were the featured performers. Delano sang Colorado a song climbing
the indie charts, along with a duet, Heartbreak Ridge with
Anita Wicker.
Helpers included vice president of
EVA Jewel Allen, Geneva Hogans, Rosalind McBride, Kathy Villiard and Nell
Duncan. Parade coordinator was Anita Wicker
Allen.
The Emmet PTA met May 13 for its

Kathleen Mitchell. The outgoing reporter is Vicki Simmons. The newly

and Pam Elliott is the new secretary. A new officer title was voted in.
Concession manager will be Don Mitchell beginning next fall. We wish this
fall's school PTA well and hope that anyone who has a student attending
will help take part in the PTA. Many great things are accomplished through
the PTA. We thank the 1998-99 PTA for a good year. The group helped
purchase gym equipment, some lockers in the hallway, new sound system for
the stage, ball rack and gym lockers made. In addition it sponsored the
basketball tournament appreciation, teacher appreciation and EBS reward
parties. It also purchased some cheerleader uniforms, fourth grade library
materials, plus many more items.
And, the board took the first steps
in offering more athletics to the students when
Anita Wicker Allen,
administrative assistant to Emmet Mayor Dale Booker, broached the topic of
a new baseball field.
Anita
Wicker Allen, the coordinator of the event,
said the heat kept many people away who may have otherwise attended.
However, more people showed up for the evening events in order to stay out
of the sweltering heat.
Over $2,000 was raised this year.
Anita Wicker Allen, coordinator of the fundraiser, said $2,152.36 was raised.
The Emmet Vision Association with
Jewel Allen as food coordinator did a great job feeding all the hungry
particpants as well as the mothers and dads who looked on or rode in the
mule wagon, according to Anita Wicker Allen.
